One of our favourite things is brunch - that meal that is a bit of everything delicious with some healthy stuff on the side. Danish Bacon, wholemeal bread, local produce, delicious pastries... some strawberries on top... what's not to love? With all things brunch being so hot right now - here are our favourite brunch spots in Copenhagen.

Copenhagen is a city that’s brimming in cool but you don’t need to be a culture vulture or clubber to get into the trendy scene- simply take your pick of these ultra-hip and affordable brunch spots and indulge in gastronomic delights while you people watch or meet..

Kalaset

Kalaset is a little slice of heaven is found in the achingly cool district of Nørrebro. This is the place to come for your breakfast, brunch or cocktails. Kalaset is the Swedish for party and this kitchen and bar has the upbeat atmosphere you’d expect with an amazing menu for brunch, (served 10-14.00, 14.30 at weekends).There’s food to suit every palette with Tante Green vegetarian and Tante Vegan menus or if you like something meatier why not try the Mormor menu, scrambled eggs, chili sausages, small oven baked potatoes, brie, greens and fruit, local yoghurt delicacy skyr, homemade muesli and bread and butter!  If you like your atmosphere friendly and your food homemade with love then Kalaset is a must.

Granola

Granola in Frederiksberg, is the perfect place to indulge your brunch appetite in stylish diner-style surroundings.  Here in the heart of the city’s trendy shopping and eating district you can eat from a great breakfast menu (served every day until 11.30am), including homemade nutella, omelettes, fresh rye bread, pancakes, skyr and much, much more at a great price. This is a very popular place with locals and tourists alike and has fantastic lunch menu served from midday until four with steak, open sandwiches and delicious salads. In the summer this place has a sunny terrace and in the winter a cosy, busy atmosphere.

Cafe Dyrehaven

Dyrehaven is a gem of a café with a breakfast menu (9-12 or 10 to midday at the weekends) to match. This café is popular with locals found in the hip area of Vesterbro serves up a delicious breakfast offering including traditional open sandwiches, eggs benedict, skyr and more to tempt the appetite.  During the summer there’s pavement side people watching too!

Paludan Book & Cafe

Why not try something intellectual to get those juices flowing? At Paludan Book & Café on Fiolstræde you can tuck into a tasty breakfast surrounded by books! This café in the city’s old Jewish quarter is a must for book lovers. In former times this place not only sold but published books too. Today you can eat and buy a great novel at the same time! Brunch is served 9-14.00 and includes Paludan’s brunch a generous greek yoghurt, fruit, honey, ham, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, cheese, bread, butter and fruit juice or a smoothie!

Royal Smushi

Royal Smushi is a treat. Not only is all the food served on Royal Copenhagen crockery (doesn’t that just make you feel like royalty?), located in the heart of the city this café with eccentric baroque décor and a warm atmosphere is something pretty special. The menu is good with smushi- their own version of an open sandwiches and much more. The brunch (served until 11.30am and until 15.00 on Sundays) includes pancakes, fruit salad, brie, skyr and compote, muesli, eggs and bacon, bread, butter and marmalade and an optional addition of bubbles!
