The fantastic duo ‘Sune and Morten’s Awesome Worldwide Traveling Guitar Show’ have been playing at our Downtown Hostel for approximately one year now.
”The way we got the gig was because Sune randomly meet a previous bar manager of the hostel at a rowdy new years eve party in Copenhagen. He was wearing a plastic guitar and a 70’s hippie outfit and was asked the question, ”Hey you look like someone who would like to play at Downtown Hostel”. And I’ve been doing it ever since.”
Sune, a semiprofessional musician who just finished his master in sociology likes to travel as much as possible. He’s looking forward to a trip to Georgia, Turkmenistan, Armenia, and Turkey next summer.
Morten is also a semiprofessional musician and is studying musicology and literature in the university of Copenhagen and in Barcelona.
Their favorite place to go out in Copenhagen is a cool little place called Blågårds Apotek, “mainly because of the music”. It is a small and intimate venue with a lot of local performers, but from time to time there’s also some international acts. Blågårds Apotek is also interesting because of its wide selection in local and imported beer – it holds 70 different beers and almost as many types of rum, mostly because of its regular’s pasts of political engagement in Cuba and the Central American region.
So come down on Thursday nights at 8pm for some fun company, some cold (or warm) drinks, and a fantastic live show of great music!
