William Shakespeare’s famous play about the Danish prince Hamlet is based on a Danish myth of the Viking Prince Amled of Jutland.

The beautiful amusement park Bakken, located in the outskirts of Copenhagen, opened in 1583 (!) and is the worlds oldest operating amusement park!

The Danes have been voted to be the happiest people in the world, for several years in a row, and by more than one study. We’re not exactly sure what it is with life in Denmark that makes you so happy, but why risk it by trying to live somewhere else?

Maybe part of the happiness comes from the fact that Denmark has been ranked as the world’s most democratic and least corrupt in the world (2008). Or maybe that is has the lowest income inequality in the world? The happier you see that your friends and fellow countrymen are, the happier you are!

Another thing to be very proud of is Denmark's open-mindedness. Denmark became the first country in the world to legalize same-sex unions in 1989. Love for all!
