Even though nothing really beats a lazy summer afternoon, beautiful fall days with crisp air and sunshine are a close second. And how to better enjoy it than talking a walk in one of Copenhagen’s many parks? There are lots of them to choose from, and there will most likely be one just around the corner from any of your day trip destinations.
Fælledsparken
This huge park is located between Nørrebro and Østerbro, right behind the main hospital, Rigshospitalet. It features both a skate park and lots of athletics areas, a lake and beautiful paths to stroll around on.
The Botanical Garden
This is one of three parks located right next to each other in the city center. The Botanical Garden has a lakes, winding tree lined paths, and a huge indoors greenhouse.
Østre Anlæg
This park is right above the botanical garden and just behind the National Gallery of Denmark. This park has lots of lakes and is one of our favorites for a dreamy escape from the city.
Kongens Have
In summer this is a great place for a picnic, or just to spend a day on a blanket in the sun. Lots of people come here to hang out, and on a beautiful fall day you can still get the last of that summer feeling in this park.
Ørestedsparken
This is a smaller park, but oh so pretty. A huge lake takes up most of it, and around through the path ways there are lots and lots of statues scattered. Very picturesque and very relaxed.
Søndermarken
This park is neighbors with Frederikbergs Have, and located right by Vesterbro. It’s super beautiful and a very popular place for joggers, families and dog owners/lovers.
Frederikbergs Have
Frederikbergs Have includes Copenhagen’s Zoo, so if your walking around in the right park and if you’re a little bit lucky you might see the big animals of the zoo through their park facing fences. This park also has a few great lakes and lots of beautiful little areas to soak up the last bits of warming sunshine of the season.
Assistens Kirkegård
We have written about this park many times before, because we’re just so crazy about the fact that it’s a graveyard but still encouraged to be used by the people of Copenhagen. And look how pretty it gets in fall!
