Meet our Super Staff, it's Majbritt
We love introducing you to our staff - so you can be part of the family and come and say 'hi' when you come to stay with us! If you're already been then you've probably met Majbritt, our cool Dutch bar girl and receptionist who loves a Dark & Stormy! She's from Apeldoorm in the Netherlands but has been living in Copenhagen for over two years, and has been with us making mean cocktails and great conversation since March. So Marbritt - are you a backpacker at heart?
I can say I'm most definitely a wanderer by heart.
I moved away from home since I was 17 and have not settled on a "home" ever since. I guess you take home with you in your heart. And Copenhagen has for sure stolen my heart. My plan was to keep travelling, but because of Copenhagen I actually stopped to take a breath. My future plans are still open, but for now I'm having quite a hard time leaving this place.
What’s your favorite travel quote?
"You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition."
What’s your favorite drink in Happy Hour?
My drink has always been Dark & Stormy. The dark rum, lime and ginger beer is awesome, just awesome.
What is your favorite neighborhood in Copenhagen and why?
Every neighborhood has it's charm, obviously, but the one that fits my vibe the most would be Nørrebro. Some parts are lively with students and great parties, others are calm and cozy, with lot of families. It's very multicultural and dynamic and even though it sounds a little morbid - the cemeteries are absolutely beautiful. People go and picnic there during summertime.
What’s the best thing about living in Copenhagen?
In my opinion, the city is extremely innovative and refreshing. I have been living here for almost two years, know the city inside out, but still notice something new every day. It's calm and alive at the same time. Very inspiring atmosphere.
What’s the best thing about working at Copenhagen Downtown?
What I love about Downtown, is that I can do what I love most and actually call it my job. I can be outgoing and be myself, and with that meet new people and hear their stories. We're very close with our guests and that's what makes it real and genuine. I have met so many beautiful people in here, it's sometimes even quite hard to see them leave!
