Our awesome bar manager Luca is originally from near Rome, in Italy, but has lived in Copenhagen for one year now. He was actually a guest at the hostel for the first two months, before he managed to find a way to get himself employed- something we are very happy about now! Here are some quick questions for him.

Hi Luca! How did your move to Copenhagen come about?
I wanted to move somewhere I could stay for a while. The economy in Italy doesn’t make it an easy place to live. Denmark has such a great system, giving you a chance to build a new life they way you choose. I was thinking about Canada and Australia also, but I’m so glad I picked Copenhagen.

What did you do before coming over here?
I have been living abroad a lot in my life, and love traveling. I’ve lived in London, Amsterdam, and Barcelona before.

What’s you favorite thing about Copenhagen?
I love the architecture, and all the music that happens everywhere, especially in summer. And I really really love Copenhagen Downtown Hostel. It’s like a little town of its own, inside the city.

What would you recommend people to see in Copenhagen?
Seriously, I think everyone should check out Copenhagen Downtown Hostel. It’s so much fun here!

…Ok, I also really like the lake in Christiania, it’s so beautiful. And I love swimming in the canals in the city in summer. And that little sauna on the canal!

What’s your favorite thing about Copenhagen Downtown?
The parties. I think this New Years Eve party was the most fun party I’ve ever been to. I also really love the live music nights, we will have them twice a week this spring. Come join us!

Thanks Luca, and thanks for always giving us such a friendly smile from behind that bar!
