We all know if there's a month that hygge was invented for it's that long month of January, after the festivities and excesses of the Christmas period. January still has that dark, cosy and intimate vibe that's beloved of the Danes. The uber cool of Copenhagen know how to feel the fun of a winter get together with friends, family or new friends that they haven't met yet!

Tuesday January 30th is a date to dust down your best clobber and get your fashion lasers set to stun with the launch of Copenhagen Fashion Week. Join the ranks of the beautiful people from around the world working out what and who is the hottest new trend to hit the streets from the capital of cool. Catch run way shows, join shopping events and find out what makes Nordic fashion the envy of the world.

Paint Bar Copenhagen
If you're a budding artist then you might just like to join friend or make new ones drinking wine and painting! On Saturday the 27th of January you can make get sociable and go home with a painting of your own. You don't need to be a budding Dali to be part of the Paint Bar; you just need to turn up- the paint, apron and canvas and have some fun.

For those of you who like to seek their kicks in the infinite then make a date with Tycho Brahe Planetarium, home to Denmark's largest dome theatre. Here on Sunday 28th of January you can gaze at the heavens through the amazing telescope from 21.00-23.00. The planetarium, a modern masterpiece of architecture is close to Copenhagen's Central Train Station.

Ice Skating at Frederiksberg Runddel
Get your skates on at Frederiksberg Runddel at the entrance to Frederiksberg Gardens. Here you can enjoy a slice of serenity, in middle of the busy city. Why not show the locals your skating skills- you can twirl on the ice for free unless you hire skates which will set you back a reasonable 50 Kroner. You don't have to be an expert on the ice, but you do need to skate anti-clockwise or risk chaos! Open 11.00-20.00 Monday to Friday, and 10.00-20.00 Saturday and Sunday, until the 25th of February.
